Stampin’ Up’s new colors!

Posted in Uncategorized by frostedandstamped on June 30, 2010

Stampin Up! has done a color renovation and I am in love with their colors.  These new colors are one of the many reasons I love SU!  These 40 colors are wonderful and there is not a one in the bunch that I wouldn’t be thrilled to use!  I used to refer to colors in Disney paint colors but now when I am talking about colors I always think of them in SU colors, while most do not know what Not Quite Navy and Melon Mambo are I do and I think of colors in their SU names so sorry to all of you who I have referred to colors but strange names, please forgive me, but just take a look at how gorgeous these colors are!

Birthday Fun and a new Technique!

Posted in Uncategorized by frostedandstamped on June 28, 2010

This card was so fun to make, I used only scraps while I was making it and it was really fun and turned out great.  I used a technique called rock n roll on the stamped flower.  You ink up the stamp in a lighter color, then you roll the edges of the stamp in a dark color then you stamp the image onto your card.  I really like this technique.  It adds a little flair to any stamped image!

C is for Cookie!

Posted in Uncategorized by frostedandstamped on June 21, 2010

While I mostly make cakes and cupcakes for my wonderful customers, my first love is decorated cookies.  I started decorating sugar cookies at each Christmas with my Aunt about 10 years ago, and really thats where I fell in love with baking and decorating.  So a couple of weeks ago I was given the opportunity to make some cookies for a close friend of our family.  He is an 18 year old boy who went to Kennesaw Mountain, I hadnt really done any “boy cookies” before so I really had to be careful to not put flowers or anything on his cookies.  The results were great and I think everyone loved them, I know I did!

Toes in the Water…

Posted in Uncategorized by frostedandstamped on June 18, 2010

While it may seem that I spend all of my days and nights in the kitchen or my craft room (formerly my bedroom) I actually have a part time job,  I am a communications/marketing manager at the Georgia Motor Trucking Association.  So yes, I am a PR girl by day and a cake decorator by night :).   I have been there five years and love it, especially this week!  This week we have a big event, we have several big events throughout the year and these events are what I live for, I am an obsessive planner, list maker, and organizer, so when it is event time I get in what I call “event mode” these are the last 4-6 weeks before an event and it is my favorite time!

This week is our annual convention so we are traveling to Amelia Island for 5 days, there is lots of hard work to be done while we are there but it is all surrounded by lots of fun and time to relax and enjoy the beach for a couple of days as well!  So, while I leave you all here I will be living it up at the Ritz on Amelia!  Here are a few photos so you wont feel left out…

NOTE: These photos are fully intended to make you feel jealous, jk, sort of !

So I must apologize, I had a series of blog post scheduled to be posted during May and June and they NEVER did.  Thankfully my wonderful family brought it to my attention, and now I am here to remedy the situation.  While I am not going to post all of them at once I will reschedule them for different days for all of your reading pleasure!

I have been busy lately with lots of cake orders, so you can expect to see those pictures soon.  Also, the new Stampin’ Up catalog was delivered a few days ago so I have been busy drooling over it and sleeping with it next to my pillow, everything in it is fantastic and there are new colors and stamp sets that I cant wait to get my hands on and make some fantastic cards and invitations with!

I will leave you with a cake I made for a friend whos daughter graduated a few weeks ago.  Her school colors were blue and white, so this turned out to be a great fit for her!
